It seems like I’ve been writing about Fashion Week in NYC for the last month and a half, but I guess it’s only been since the 11th. Anyway, last night was the Ann Taylor Spring/Summer 2010 Collection runway show, and Amanda Bynes, Vanessa Williams and a few other (relatively) famous peeps showed up.
Here’s what my inquiring mind wants to know: what in the name of Botox hell did Vanessa Williams do to her face? It looks like somebody stretched her forehead taut like it was a freaking canvas or something! Since when does she look all Marie Osmond-like in the mouth area? And THOSE EYEBROWS! Why is the one on the right creeping up toward her hairline like that?
Still, Vanessa is like a much-needed starburst of glamor in that room. Look at everyone behind her! In a place where nobody knows how to work a hair or makeup brush, the overly-botoxed bombshell is queen. Plus, her body is amazing.
HA! The look on Jessica Stroup’s face says a million words about the stuff that Jill Stewart sent down the runway. Are nipples “in” for spring? Because if so, you can go ahead and count me out right now.
Michelle Trachtenberg, Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton and Amanda Bynes were also in attendance, though they seemed less shocked by the wardrobe malfunction than Jessica.
In a word: everything. Amanda Bynes is one of those girls who is damn near perfect. She’s beautiful, talented, funny and absolutely not scandalous. Plus, her dog isn’t in a purse…it’s walking on the sidewalk like it should be. I hate it when people carry their dogs everywhere. I’m an animal lover (as evidenced by my 500 cats), but even I feel like there’s a special circle of hell for people who treat their pets like children.
Earlier today I went grocery shopping, and some chick was cruising down the produce aisle with a pug sitting in the cart where a kid is supposed to be. It even had a glittery pink shirt on. I’m pretty sure that’s against every health code ever written, but nobody said anything to her. One of the employees even came over to pet the mongrel!
Amanda Bynes, who recently starred in the movie “Hairspray,” was seen leaving Jessica Galvan Hair Studio in Beverly Hills this afternoon. The 22-year old actress entered the salon a blonde and exited three hours later a brunette. By the time Amanda left the salon a large group of photographers and fans had gathered. Amanda took it all in stride and repeatedly said that she was flattered because she never receives attention like this. She went on to say, “I’m no Posh!” but many of the photogs responded that she was much prettier!
The film, due in US theaters on February 29, is a modern romantic tale about a young aristocratic heiress, Penelope (Ricci) born under a curse that can only be broken when she finds true love with “one who will love her faithfully.”
Amanda Bynes, Ricki Lake and Elijah Kelley were among the attendees of the Hairspray screening at the Palm Springs Film Festival yesterday.Ricki Lake starred as Tracy Turnblad in the original film, written and directed by John Waters, released in 1988. She also played an agent in the new film.
Jessica Simpson, Aisha Tyler, Amanda Bynes, Bai Ling, Dita Von Teese, Kristen Bell and Vanessa Hudgens were among the attendees at the Fredrick’s of Hollywood 4th Annual Lingerie Art Auction in Hollywood last night. The event benefits the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation.
The Clothes Off Our Back Foundation hosts charity auctions showcasing today’s hottest celebrity attire. Items are put up for bid to the public with proceeds going to benefit children’s charities. Clothes Off Our Back was founded by actors and philanthropists Jane Kaczmarek (“Malcolm In The Middle”) and Bradley Whitford (“The West Wing,” “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip”) whose efforts, along with their celebrity and designer friends have helped improve the lives of children across the globe.
Following in the footsteps of celebrity fashion icons like Jessica Simpson, Hilary Duff and the Olsen Twins who have all used their fame to launch their very own clothing lines, Amanda Bynes held a launch party at Sushi Samba in New York, today, for her new clothing line, Dear.
Dear is sure to make girls excited about going back to school and will not only impress young girls, but their parents as well.
Every piece in the 120-item collection, available at Steve & Barry’s, is available for under $20!
