Morgan Freeman Honored At AFI

[Not a valid template]

One of my favorite actors was honored last night in LA and I guess I’m not the only one who thinks Morgan Freeman is great, a whole host of A-listers turned out in support too.

Freeman was the recipient of the The AFI Life Achievement award and was joined by the likes of Dame Helen Mirren, Forest Whitaker, Matthew McConaughey, Cuba Gooding Junior and of course his very proud family.

With 93 acting credits to his name, Freeman is totally deserving of this award. Amongst my favorite movies with Freeman have to be Seven and Shawshank Redemption, both quite serious films. He’s not only terrific in those but brilliant in a quiet comedic way in Bruce Almighty.

Congrats Mr Freeman!

Russell Brand’s ‘Arthur’ New York Premiere

[Not a valid template]

When it comes to rising star Russell Brand is art imitating life or vice versa?

A wild rapscallion transformed after falling for the girl of his dreams…sounds a lot like Russell’s new film “Arthur” and a lot like his own life too!

And the London comic turned Hollywood actor is the first to admit it, ‘When I fell in love, it changed me from being a rapscallion rascal and nocturnal squirrel man to faithful husband,’ speaking of his pop star wife Katy Perry while on the red carpet of last night’s premiere.

Joining the nocturnal squirrel man to faithful husband at Ziegfeld Theatre were his co-stars Helen Mirren and Jennifer Garner…both of whom looked dazzling in their own right.

Helen Mirren Brighton Rock

[Not a valid template]

Dame Helen Mirren may not act like she’s in her golden years, but she sure had the golden look down at the European premiere of “Brighton Rock” held at London’s Odeon West End last night.

Showing off her new shorter hair Helen playfully posed on on a vintage moped before heading inside to watch the crime drama remake, based on English author and playwright Graham Greene’s 1939 novel of the same name.

Also out for the event were the film’s younger stars Andrea Riseborough and Sam Riley.

RED At Comic-Con

[Not a valid template]

Karl Urban, Hellen Mirren, and Bruce Willis make an appearance at Comic-Con in San Diego to promote their movie RED.

The action-comedy is about a group of aging ex CIA black ops agents who show the generation how it’s done without the help of fancy gadgets.

I was only thinking to myself the other day, what would I do without my iphone and computer!

Helen Mirren on Arthur set

[Not a valid template]

We loves us some Helen Mirren so thought she deserved her own post here instead of a combined one with Mr Brand as seen earlier.

Dame Helen is seen here on the set of the Arthur remake and although they have managed to hide all of her vavavoom underneath all of that dowdy Butler getup,  we know the stunning English beauty and very talented award winning actress is still there as she ever was!  You can’t fool us!!

Russell Brand films Arthur remake

Russell Brand wears workout gear, including a sleeveless shirt that reads “You’ll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking,” as he heads to his trailer to change into tan suit, black shirt and flip flops on the set of his new film, a remake of the 1981 hit “Arthur.” In the film, he plays the role of Arthur, originally played by Dudley Moore.

The lovely Helen Mirren was also spotted on set wearing a blue polka-dot head wrap, sunglasses, white top and pleated skirt.  She plays his butler, oh we bet Mr Brand just loves that!!

A Real Madame

Guess which is the real one?

Helen Mirren was at the unveiling of herself today at Madame Tussauds in London and they did such a good job that I had trouble figuring out which was the real actress and which was the wax statue!

State of Play Premiere Pics

[Not a valid template]

Russell Crowe, who recently got all hot again for that Robin Hood movie that’s coming out soon, got all up in Helen Mirren’s personal space today at the London premiere of State of Play. Not that she’ll complain about it, I’m sure. In fact, I bet I know at least five people who would be willing to shank somebody for an opportunity to get that close to Russell Crowe.

For the record, Helen’s quite the hottie herself. Several months ago, pictures of her in a bikini got leaked online and she looked ridiculously good in a two piece. You wouldn’t suspect it, but it’s 100% true.

Helen Mirren, seen here at The Ivy in LA celebrating her sister Katherine’s birthday, is in some odd company that includes Kat Moss and Naomi Campbell. How, you ask? She’s been named to a list of the world’s most glamorous women in British Vogue.

The magazine lists more than 50 women including Mirren, Claudia Schiffer, Jemima Khan in the December issue’s special glamour feature.

Live Like A Queen

Blog_mx0053020_1

Want to live in a place fit for a queen? Well now you can if you have $40,000 a month. Oscar nominee Helen Mirren has put her Hollywood pad up for rent.

What do you get for that much money?…………..

6 acres of trees and flowers. A main residence that is 7000 square feet with a grand master suite that looks out onto breathtaking city views. Terraces and a pool and a 2700 square foot guest cottage that offers room for office & staff. Of course one must always have room for staff.  Geez,  the guest cottage alone is about twice the size of my house!

Now don’t go thinking you can go snooping around, the property is double gated and secure according to the realtor. What else would you expect of The Queen’s residence?
