Superstar actor Leonardo DiCaprio and the cast of Clint Eastwood’s new film J. Edgar came together to celebrate the world premiere of the film at the AFI Fest 2011 Opening Night Gala in Los Angeles at Grauman’s Chinese Theater.
DiCaprio sported a dapper black suit with a white dress shirt and silver tie, keeping the overall look sharp with a touch of old world Hollywood.
His costars Naomi Watts & Hilary Swank also channeled the glitz and glamour of classic Hollywood style. Watts wore an elegant silver evening gown that highlighted both her coloring and post-babies figure.
Swank on the other hand kept things simple with pretty beachy waves and a form fitting white evening gown that fused the easy going California girl look with upscale Hollywood style.
The AFI Fest Premiere kicks off the beginning of their very busy promotional tour for J. Edgar.
A glowing Kate Hudson arrived at the premiere of her new movie “Something Borrowed” in a spring-style yellow dress. The actress, who is expecting her second child soon with fiance Matthew Bellamy, looked stunning on the red carpet.
Other celebrities attending the Grauman’s Chinese Theater Los Angeles premiere of the new movie were Ginnifer Goodwin, who is fresh off the finale of HBO’s ‘Big Love’ and sporting a new shorter ‘do, “The Office” star John Krasinski and “Amelia’ actress Hilary Swank.
The Warner Bros. Pictures romantic-comedy centers around two best friends, Darcy, played by Hudson, and Rachel, a successful attorney who is painfully single, played by Ginnifer Goodwin. Although Rachel is a loyal friend, one night of too much drinking leads to her in bed with Darcy’s fiance Dex. Friendships are tested and secrets come out when Rachel falls for her best friend’s fiance.
Indie flicks have yet another award show on their side.
Natalie Portman, Hilary Swank, Anne Hathaway and Leighton Meester were among the lovely actresses who were seen arriving at New York’s Cipriani Wall Street for IFP’s 20th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards.
The evening’s winners included the dark drama Winter’s Bone which picked up the Best Feature Award and Kevin Asch who won the Breakthrough Director Award.
And it seems that the Gotham accolade just might be the beginning of praise for Winter’s Bone, as the film has recently been nominated for and Independent Spirit Award, the ceremony of which is held the night before the Oscars.
The lovely ladies of Hollywood turned out in force last night for Glamour Magazine’s 2010 Women of the Year Gala, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the event.
Kate Hudson, Julia, Roberts, Fergie, Hilary Swank, Kelly Osbourne and Cher were amongst the A-list guest list. Question is…. who was the most glamorous on the night?
Fergie gets my vote!
I’ve never heard of The Buffalo Club before (which makes sense, considering I live in Pittsburgh and it’s in L.A.), but apparently it’s quite the celebrity hot spot. Last night, the club held a pre-Critic’s Choice party, and all kinds of famous people showed up: Robert Downey Jr., Colin Farrell, Tommy Lee Jones, Dwayne Johnson, Christian Slater, Julianne Moore, Jason Statham, Hilary Swank and Cuba Gooding, Jr.
That’s quite the impressive guest list!
Hilary Duff and Chevy Chase were together at the after party for the Stay Cool premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.
It’s weird to see the two of them together, uncomfortably embracing on the red carpet gum-encrusted pavement. That’s something you’d expect out of Heidi and Spencer, not my beloved Chevy Chase!
But how cute is Hilary in that outfit? The scarf is ubercute, the hair is funky fresh and the makeup is perfect. She needs to give her stylist a raise!
Among the stars on the red carpet last night at the premiere of P.S. I Love You were Hilary Swank, James Blunt, Lisa Kudrow, Mary-Louise Parker, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Gina Gershon.
In the film, due in US theaters on December 21, a young widow discovers that her late husband has left her 10 messages intended to help ease her pain and start a new life.
