British Academy Film Awards

It was a night for Kings, ballerinas and girls with dragon tattoos at last night’s 2011 Orange British Academy Film Awards.

With stunning dresses on the red carpet at The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and much deserved honors being handed out inside, including Colin Firth winning Best Actor for a second time in a row for “The King’s Speech” following last year’s “A Single Man” accolade, there was much to celebrate.

“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” was recognized in the Film Not in the English Language category, David Fincher picked up the Best Director BAFTA for “The Social Network”, while an absent Natalie Portman was honored with the Best Actress award for her work in “Black Swan”.

And as expected by many “The King’s Speech” stood out from the crowd with Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter winning awards for their supporting roles in the film, while it also scooped up the Outstanding British Film trophy.

Barney’s Version

Minnie Driver brightens up the carpet in a flame red strapless dress at Gala screening of Barney’s Version, part of the AFI FEST 2010 presented by Audi Centerpiece  at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

Dustin Hoffman also smirked for the photographers along with his wife Lisa Gottsegen.  I must say, these two appear to be one of the happiest couples in Hollywood.

Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

Celebs come out for the inaugural Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Los Angeles held at Will Rogers State Historic Park in the Pacific Palisades, supporting California State Parks and The Will Rogers Ranch Foundation.

Minnie Driver opted for a pretty floral dress while ever the chameleon, Mischa Barton, went for a dramatic 1920 style with a black flapper dress and feathered hat.

The Celebs Come Out for Eco-Friendly Shopping

You know what’s hot right now? The Malibu Lumber Yard. I know it sounds like something you’d hit up before trying to flip a house, but there’s more to it than that. The Malibu Lumber Yard is an upscale, eco-friendly retail site that had its grand opening last night.

The organizers of the opening night festivities must have done something right, because all kinds of famous people came out to show their support. People like Matthew McConaughey, Camilla Alves, Jewel, Mena Suvari, Vanessa Minnillo, Sean Stewart, Jerey Piven, Terri Seymour and Minnie Driver were all there.

Hancock Premiere Brings Out the Stars (or at least Minnie Driver)

Minnie Driver was great in Good Will Hunting, but since then I can’t really think of much that she has been in that I really liked. I knew she was pregnant but I thought she’d have had the kid by now. I mean, it seems like she’s been pregnant for two years already!

Also, at this time I’d like to give mad props and a shout out to whoever commented about the Paris Hilton post I made a few days ago. It seriously made me cackle out loud!

Minnie Driver and her friends thought something was REALLY funny, not sure what it was but hey, at least we got some smiles. And by the way, Minnie can sport those short shorts anytime, no sign of cellulite anywhere!
