Actress Mira Sorvino, with husband Christopher Backus (who was recently arrested for public drunkenness in San Diego. Law enforcement said his behavior was so outlandish walking around with a bat and screaming at people, they had no choice but to arrest him), Joely Richardson, Kate Walsh and Jeremy Piven were just a few of the celebrities who were on hand for the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival’s premiere of the movie ‘Angels Crest’. The film is about a small town that mourns the sudden death of a child on a fishing trip and a prosecutor goes after the father.
This year marks the Tribeca Film Festival’s 10th anniversary, originally founded by Robert DeNiro, Craig Hatkoff and Jane Rosenthal after the September 11, 2001 attacks to revitalize its namesake and downtown Manhattan.
Mark Wahlberg was looking mighty happy as he walked the red carpet with beautiful wife Rhea Durham at the premiere of his latest film The Fighter, which he both produced and stars in alongside the talented Christian Bale.
The biographical movie about the early years of boxer ‘Irish’ Micky Ward has been named by reviewers as a Martin Scorsese-esque film…not too shabby of a comparison!
Other stars to grace the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre premiere was the gorgeous Amy Adams, who looked graceful in a white cocktail dress and cherry-red satin heels, and a happily bearded Bale.
Wahlberg, who is producing some of the most interesting TV shows of late, including In Treatment, Boardwalk Empire and Entourage, has recently been connected with the new feature film adaptation of the futuristic crime short The Raven which he will reportedly produce and star in.
The Fighter hits cinemas on December 10th.
Eco-friendly Entourage star, Jeremy Piven, grabbed a bite to eat at the Newsroom Cafe, yesterday, while pouring over a new script. Piven pulled away in a Hydrogen powered BMW. The actor is part of a select group that have been given an opportunity to try the new hydrogen-powered luxury performance car. The BMW has a 260-horsepower, 12-cylinder internal combustion engine capable of running on either premium-grade gasoline or hydrogen and can be alternated at the press of a button. The car is also able to switch fuels automatically when the liquid hydrogen tank runs dry. When asked about the car, Piven responded, “If the government received more pressure from the public, Hydrogen could be a viable source of energy within ten years”. No price has been released for the car but the standard-fuel BMW it is based upon, the 760Li, retails at $118,900.
“Entourage” star Jeremy Piven likes to keep on top of the latest news and fashion. He stopped by a news stand in Malibu, yesterday, to pick up copies of the “LA times,” “New York Post” and “Vanity Fair.”
Piven has been upstaged by another actor in his family. His 2-year-old niece, Pearl, steals the show in Will Ferrell’s video on FunnyorDie.com, playing his trash-talking, unforgiving landlord.
“Imagine how I feel,” said Piven, speaking to PEOPLE from London. “Suddenly I’m upstaged by my 2-year-old niece who’s 19 times funnier than I am and a much better actor. It’s overwhelming.”
Entourage star Jeremy Piven took a drive through Malibu with his girlfriend yesterday in an antique off-roader.
It was announced this week that Piven, who had agreed to perform a voice in the animated monster movie, Igor, slated for release in 2008 was replaced by none other than British comedian Eddie Izzard. There’s not been a statement as to why Piven changed his mind.
Jeremy Piven reckons he’s a nice Jewish boy, or at least that’s what his t-shirt says. Maybe his girlfriend will take him home to mamma! Piven went to the Newsroom cafe in LA solo but left an hour later with a brunette who we think is America’s Next Top Model 7 runner-up Melrose Bickerstaff. Piven was seen smooching Melrose at the Golden Globes after parties and while there was no smooching today it looks like the pair were trying to go incognito.
