Colin Firth

British Academy Film Awards

It was a night for Kings, ballerinas and girls with dragon tattoos at last night’s 2011 Orange British Academy Film Awards.

With stunning dresses on the red carpet at The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and much deserved honors being handed out inside, including Colin Firth winning Best Actor for a second time in a row for “The King’s Speech” following last year’s “A Single Man” accolade, there was much to celebrate.

“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” was recognized in the Film Not in the English Language category, David Fincher picked up the Best Director BAFTA for “The Social Network”, while an absent Natalie Portman was honored with the Best Actress award for her work in “Black Swan”.

And as expected by many “The King’s Speech” stood out from the crowd with Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter winning awards for their supporting roles in the film, while it also scooped up the Outstanding British Film trophy.

BAFTA Nominee Lunch

A day ahead of the 2011 British Academy Film Awards nominees enjoyed a classy luncheon at London’s Corinthia Hotel hosted by Momentum Pictures.

Colin Firth, who’s up for Best Actor for his work in the critically acclaimed The King’s Speech, couldn’t help by smile as he arrived while Best Supporting Actress nominee Amy Adams of The Fighter was looking fab in a tailored dress…

…and showing off a far different look from her The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo days, Swedish actress Noomi Rapace arrived in style in a sleek feminine tuxedo.

May the best person win!

Weinstein Golden Globes After Party

A few surprise wins, a few expected wins, but all well deserved…the simple round up of last nights 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards!

Following the glitz and glam of the award ceremony that saw the popular TV series “Glee”, “Boardwalk Empire” and the film “The Social Network” take home accolades…

…while Natalie Portman, Colin Firth, Christian Bale and Annette Bening picked up globes for their outstanding performances, the stars whooped it up at The Weinstein Company and Relativity Media’s 2011 Golden Globe After Party.

At the bash beauties including Kelly Brook, Milla Jovovich and Olivia Wilde showed off their curves in glamorous gowns the always wildly styled Helena Bonham Carter wore an over the top piece by Vivienne Westwood and walked around in mismatched heels.

Hope they all had fun!

The King’s Speach

Some of my fave actors walked the red Carpet last night in London at the 54th BFI London Film Festival.

Geoffrey Rush, Helena Bonham Carter and Colin Firth came out for the UK premiere of Tom Hooper’s “The King’s Speech”, a historical drama about King George VI.

I still can’t think of Colin Firth as anything but the lovely Mr Darcy, however with this troupe of actors, how can this film be anything but fantastic?

Helena sported her usual unique style and a pair of trendy thick-rimmed glasses.
