David Beckham is spotted visiting a soccer cage in downtown Miami where he spent time watching the local kids practicing soccer. The 39 year old former footballer took plenty of time to take pictures and sign autograph with all the kids present. It was also said that Beckham traveled all around Miami before attending the England vs Honduras exhibition match at Sun Life Stadium.
David Beckham arrived in Miami, today, after a long-haul flight from London where he spent a few days with his family. He was all smiles as he arrived and was escorted from the terminal by a security team to his waiting limo. The famous footballer is back in town negotiating stadium locations for his soccer team. Renderings of a possible Port of Miami location were just released earlier today.
David Beckham was mobbed by fans yesterday at a Miami soccer field where he was supposed to interact with kids. But with all the mayhem, he could barely move and ended up leaving before he wanted to for the kids’ and his own safety. The scene took place after he announced that he will be bringing an MLS expansion team to Miami and will be finalizing a deal for a new stadium.
Looking sharp in business attire, David Beckham is seen leaving a Miami Beach hotel where he is seen being polite to an unidentified lady as he opens the door. David Beckham and his LA Galaxy teammates take a 1-0 loss against the San Jose Earthquakes in the first of two playoff games at the Home Depot Center in front of a sellout crowd of 27,000. Honduran defender Victor Bernardez for San Jose stunned the Galaxy with a late goal to put San Jose a step closer to reaching the conference finals.
Bernardez spent the game trying to fend off Los Angeles’ galaxy of stars, including Ireland’s Robbie Keane. The regular-season champions left MLS’s star-studded team dismayed. Keeping L.A.(16-12-6) out of the net wasn’t easy. Keane hit the crossbar with a dangerous strike in the 85th minute that might have turned the game in the Galaxy’s favor.
Despite numerous injuries, the Galaxy had lost only one game in its previous 10. Los Angeles had won five consecutive playoff games until Sunday. The Galaxy’s best chance came in the eighth minute on David Beckham’s short free kick that found two teammates behind the defense but a twisting Keane headed it just wide of the net. David Beckham spent the last ten minutes of the game on the bench.
The Galaxy face off the Quakes for the second half of the playoff game at Buck Shaw Stadium next Wednesday.
LA Galaxy defeated the Chivas USA 3 to 1 at the Home Depot Center in L.A. on Saturday night.
Landon Donovan scored twice to lead the Galaxy to victory over the Chivas. Robbie Keane scored his fifth goal in the last four games to help the Galaxy win for the 6th time in nine games since his return from a three-week break in June.
David Beckham assisted Keane in scoring the first goal. Beckham’s three-game goal-scoring streak ended but he did assist on the first two goals.
The Galaxy have 22 goals in their last seven games after scoring just 16 in the first 15 matches. ”They’re a good enough team that they don’t need any help,” Chivas coach Robin Fraser said. ”I certainly feel like a lot of their opportunities came off our turnovers or not being clean enough with the ball. Obviously, they have some very good attacking players, and if you give them the opportunity to be dangerous, they’re going to be dangerous.”
Well done lads!
David and Victoria Beckham sit side by side to watch Wimbledon in London together and while David was spotted grinning during the match, Victoria kept her usual composure, however she did slip an arm around her hunky husband at one point.
The couple are getting ready to celebrate their daughter’s first birthday tomorrow and I am guessing there is going to be one huge party.
David Beckham’s spirits couldn’t be dampened by the rain yesterday in Athens as he arrived as part of an escort to accompany the Olympic Flame back to England ahead of the 2012 London Olympics.
Beckham, now a star player at the Los Angeles Galaxy, is lighting a cauldron today in Southwestern England on the eve of a 70-day torch relay that will start the festivities.
The flame, a sign of unity and peace dating back to ancient times in Greece, was re-introduced as a modern day symbol of the games in 1928. The flame commemorates the legend of the theft of fire from the Greek god Zeus by Prometheus. So, with all that history and significance, what’s on Beckham’s mind?
“I hope it lights” he joked with reporters.
