Selma Blair Selling Up

Selma Blair has sold her West Hollywood home to playwright, screenwriter, TV producer and writer Elizabeth Meriwether for $1.85m. Presumably, with her growing family, Selma has found her self new larger digs.

Selma renovated the home built in 1922  extensively and it includes 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms in its 2,918 square feet in the heart of WeHo. The actress seems to have opted for a minimalist design with white wood floors and glass panels offering lots of natural light. There’s also a chef’s kitchen, family room and formal dining area and the master suite opens onto a modern concrete courtyard complete with coy pond.

Poor Jamie is going to take a hit though! Records show that he bought the home in 2007 for $2.15 million. Ouch!

Newlywed Ribisi Selling Bachelor Pad

Not only is Giovanni Ribisi moving on from the single life, the newlywed actor is also moving homes!

Ribisi who wed Brit model Agyness Deyn last month has listed his bachelor pad in Silver Lake for $989,000. The couple already have a new place so now it’s time to sell the old one, hopefully for a profit. Ribisi bought this house in 2004 from Adam Goldberg for $700,000 so you do the math.

The 1,600 square foot single-story rancher-style residence boasts 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and is hidden from prying eyes behind a two-car garage, a high fence and an even higher evergreen shrubbery. The home features an open plan main living space, burnt sugar hardwood floors, vaulted ceiling in the living room and custom wood-framed glass doors facilitating easy flow of the indoor and outdoor living areas. The master bedroom at the back of the residence includes a wide row of sliding mirrored closet doors and an attached bathroom with free-standing soaking tub. Custom wood-framed glass doors open the master bedroom to a tree-shaded flagstone terrace with a sunken spa and a built-in-brick fireplace/barbecue. This home also features a sunbathing deck that drops off to a lap-length, black-bottom swimming pool with views toward Silver Lake.

Paltrow & Martin Buying New LA Mansion

Gwenyth Paltrow and her musician hubby Chris Martin are buying a new LA pad. According to reports, they have chosen this beautiful Kentucky style equestrian estate to call home and are currently in escrow for close the asking price, which is a mere $10.45 million.

So what does that kind of money get you? 6 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, parklike grounds but NO swimming pool! There is however room for your horse, which is quite funny as Paltrow we hear doesn’t even like them! She did an interview a couple of years back for Vogue magazine in which she is supposed to have said she doesn’t really have anything to do with horses and doesn’t like them much.

So based on that, this is rather an odd purchase you may think? Turns out no! Seems that some apples do fall far from the tree. Her daughter Apple, actually loves horses, is a great rider and has won many ribbons in competitions. So, no guessing whose horse is going to stabled in the garden!

Pierce Brosnan Malibu Eco Home For Rent

Want to live in the lap of Pierce Brosnan’s luxury? Well ladies and gentlemen you had better be sitting down as the monthly price tag for renting his beach-front Malibu home is a knee buckling $250,000.

The listing agent reportedly commented that the price matches the market for this kind of property on the famed Billionaires Row, however my check book is still shuddering in a corner somewhere.

So, what does that kind of money get you? Aside for some very famous neighbors like Mel Gibson, Goldie Hawn and Sylvester Stallone? In the house which was completely torn down and rebuilt, you get 13,000 square feet, 4 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, exercise room, spa, sauna, art studio, a guest chalet and a large salt water swimming pool. Of course there is also a bar, where you can mix your very own 007 Bond style Martinis.

Don’t forget I mentioned it’s an eco-friendly home too, so you also get solar panels, state of the art water recycling plant and a revolving compost heap!

So, if you have the cash to splash on this ocean front manse, you may have just found your home away from home for the months of July and August but you had better be quick, the rental only hit the market on Friday and already has SIX serious enquiries.

Historic Versace Mansion Listed At $125 Million

The iconic South Beach mansion where clothing designer Gianni Versace was killed has been listed for sale with a whopping $125 million dollar price tag.

The one-of-a-kind property has gone through several transitions since it lost it’s famous owner, at one time named Casa Casuarina and most recently The Villa By Barton G. it has become a luxury boutique hotel where the likes of Tom Cruise has frequented.

Versace may no longer be the occupant but his trademark designer’s touch is re-created everywhere in the 10 bedroomed property. There are hand painted walls and ceiling frescos and a 54-foot long mosaic pool which is lined in 24-karat gold.

Versace bought 19,000 sq. foot mansion in 1992 and spent $33 million on renovations. Sadly, five years later, Gianni was gunned down on the front steps.

Today, the place of tragedy has become a tourist hot spot as well as a hotel.

Kimora Lee Simmons Tries Selling Again

Kimora Lee Simmons is once again trying to sell her Beverly Hills home. She previously tried to sell it in 2010 asking $5.395m but didn’t have any bites. She has now re-listed it at a reduced price of $4.65m, which is $1.25 million less than what she paid for the estate in 2007.

The private estate sits in a gated community and has gone under extensive renovations (which cost more money) and includes 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. Outside there are sprawling lawns, a pool, gazebo and fireplace.

Chris Brown Selling LA Pad

Chris Brown has put his LA condo up for sale but he isn’t exactly looking to cash in. He bought it in February 2011 for $1,600,000 and has listed the 3 bed, 3.5 bath, West Hollywood pad for $1,900,00. Once you take out fees, he might make a small profit but nothing to write write a song about.

I guess that’s ok though as he isn’t banking on the sale for his next home. He already has a house that he bought last October for $1,550,000 in the LA area and another in Virginia that he bought way back in 2007.

Question is why did the singer move so quickly from the condo in the first place? The penthouse perched close to the famed Sunset Strip is a perfect party location, and some reports said that was exactly the problem! Too many parties…. and more bizarrely it’s been said, dog races in the hall way.

Well, if this was party central, there’s no sign of it now. The condo is simply decorated and has an open kitchen-dining-living room, blonde bamboo floors, windows galore and a terrace and as I said, location, location, location baby.

Hunger Games Josh Hutcherson Buys The Tree House

Josh Hutcherson is spending some of his Hunger Games money on a gorgeous new home in the Hollywood Hills. Known as The Tree House, the stunning property has 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom and in my humble opinion is just lovely!

The actor paid $2.5m for the unusual home and although it’s relatively modest by celebrity standards, it’s just 1,861 square feet, it also boasts 2,500 square feet of seamless outdoor living space that includes a movie lounge, dining/barbecue space and multiple seating areas perched in the trees.

Inside, the home has polished concrete floors, over-sized glass doors, a sleek galley kitchen with wood-beamed ceiling and clerestory windows with wood-framed glass doors. The living room features a fireplace and a pitched wood ceiling and the dining room includes a vaulted wood-beamed ceiling with glass doors merging the exterior and interior spaces.

The home has a rich history of celebrity ownership too. Built in 1951, the house was once included in property gatherer Ellen DeGeneres’ portfolio and was also home to the late Heath Ledger and then girlfriend Michelle Williams.

Lindsay Lohan Rents In Beverly Hills

Lindsay Lohan has rented this beautiful 1937 Georgian Colonial style home for an undisclosed sum thought to be around $9,000 a month.

It has 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms all tucked into 2,500 square feet. Along with polished wood floors, french doors and marble counter tops in the renovated kitchen, there is also a master bedroom with a private balcony and fireplace. There is also a pool and spa and great city views.

The thing I find most interesting is that there is something very reminiscent of Liz Taylor’s home in Lindsay’s new rental choice. In fact, as the bird flies it’s only about 1 mile from where the screen legend lived.

So maybe, the new pad is all part of Lohan prepping for her next movie role?

Ryan Seacrest Buys Ellen’s House For A Song

Ryan Seacrest is the proud owner of a lovely new home that until recently belonged to fellow celebrity Ellen Degeneres.

Handing over just under $37m, Ryan got the property for a song as it was listed at a whopping $49m. Wow, who knew Ryan was so good at hammering out a deal!

The stunning pad covers a city block with several homes in the parcel, the main one being a 9,000 square feet estate that has seamless indoor/outdoor living spaces. Of course there is the compulsory swimming pool, a huge gym and just about everything imaginable that a celebrity could want or need.

So question is, that fake out…. very nearly… almost… but not quite… wedding proposal on air the other night with Ryan and his sweetheart Julianne Hough. Does this new house signify more that just a new house? Is this the couple’s new love-nest and do we hear wedding bells in the near future?
