John Travolta was honored with a medal last night as he and wife Kelly Preston attended the 11th Annual Living Legends Of Aviation Awards held in Beverly Hills at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
John Travolta was spotted arriving at the GMA Time Square studios for an appearance on “Good Morning America” in NYC.
It’s been reported that the 59 year old actor has vowed to look after James Gandolfini’s family in the wake of his sudden death. Speaking out about the special friendship the two actors shared on GMA, “My father sold tires to his father,” Travolta stated. “He would see picture of me on the wall from movies and he decided that he wanted to be an actor.”
The two actors collaborated on the films, “Get Shorty” and the remake of “The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3.” Travolta has vowed to look after James’ family and feels it’s the right thing to do, especially since Gandolfini flew to be by his friend’s side after Travolta’s 16 year old son, Jett, died unexpectedly of a seizure in 2009.”
James went out of his way to come to Florida and he would not leave Florida until I was OK, or he felt that I would be fine,” Travolta recalled. “After a week I said, ‘Jim you can really, you can, you know, we’ll be fine. I’ve got a lot of support here.’ But the idea that in our profession someone would go out of their way and not want to leave you until he felt you were OK, tha’ts the kind of soul that James Gandolfini was.”
The late actor is survived by his wife, Deborah Lin, their 8 month old daughter, Liliana and their 13 year old son Michael, from a pervious marriage. “My goal is to make sure that his family is OK.” John said. “His little boy, I watched him grow up, and his brand new little girl. We’ll just make sure they’re taken care of. That’s the whole idea.”
Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman & her Country singing husband Keith Urban along with other celebrities made an appearance at the 2013 G’Day USA Black Tie Gala which was held at the JW Marriot at LA Live! in Los Angeles.
Nicole looked gorgeous in a tan lace A-line dress with tan high heels and her red hair pinned up in curls while Keith wore a black suit with red plaid shirt and a black tie.
2013 Oscar nominee for Best Actor, Hugh Jackman looked dashing & handsome as ever in a black tuxedo.
Is John joining The Family? Well he might be…. at least on screen!
John Travolta had dinner at the traditional Italian eatery Amici in Brentwood with John Gotti’s oldest son, John Gotti, Jr. last night!
It was the second dinner between the two and was an effort to seal the deal for Travolta to play the role of the legendary mob boss, also known as Teflon Don, in an upcoming biopic. The two sat down with the movie’s director Nick Cassavetes and executive producer Marc Fiore to discuss details and Travolta is in serious negotiations to play the role, but he has yet to sign a contract.
Upon leaving the restaurant, Gotti said Travolta is a “tremendous actor” and added that he was “totally confident” that John would be perfect for the part. We also hear that John is pretty excited about the possibility.
Proud new parents John Travolta and Kelly Preston take to the carpet for the G’Day USA event in Los Angeles yesterday.
The black-tie gala honored individuals for significant contributions to their respective industries, and for excellence in promoting Australia and the US. Olive Newton John, Andre Agassi and Zack Snyder were amongst those presenting awards.
After so much tragedy for the Travolta family in recent times, FINALLY some good news. John and Kelly are reportedly expecting. Kelly is said to be 3 months along!
The couple released a statement on their websites saying that they “are expecting a new addition to our family” and whilst they didn’t actually say it’s a baby… everyone is jumping to the same conclusion.
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth hit the red carpet last night at the Los Angeles premiere of The Last Song. How cute are the two of them together? I just want to pinch their cheeks or something.
John Travolta and Kelly Preston also made an appearance at the event, which was held at the Arclight Theatre on Sunset Boulevard.
John Travolta and Kelly Preston looked absolutely grief stricken as they left the courthouse surrounded by heavy security. Earlier today, John testified against former senator Pleasant Bridgewater and ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne, the two men accused of trying to extort $25 million from the star following the death of his son, Jett Travolta.
During his testimony, Travolta revealed that Jett was autistic, which was assumed by many but never revealed until now (probably due to the fact that the Travoltas are Scientologists). While on the stand, John said:
“My son was autistic and suffered from seizure disorder. Every five to 10 days he suffered seizures which lasted 45 seconds to a minute.”
Jett’s death from a siezure occurred during a family vacation at their home on Grand Bahama Island in January. So tragic and sad. Hopefully this will all be over soon, so the family can focus on happier times.
The Travolta family suffered a major loss yesterday: John and Kelly’s 16-year-old son, Jett, was found dead in the bathroom of their suites at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel last night. The family was on vacation.
An autopsy has yet to be performed, but it has been reported that Jett was last seen going into the bathroom around 10 pm Thursday night. He was found at 10 am yesterday morning by his caretaker. It is thought that he suffered a seizure and hit his head. John Travolta has said in the past that the teen had Kawasaki Syndrome, which can lead to heart disease.
Such sad, sad news. Our thoughts are with the Travolta family at this difficult time.
Those attending the Saturday Night Spectacular, hosted by John Travolta and Marshall Faulk, included Alfonso Ribeiro and Evander Holyfield. The event, part of Super Bowl week festivities, included a performance by REO Speedwagon and proceeds benefited the Marshall Faulk Foundation and the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Aussie and American stars alike were shining bright at the G’Day USA Australia.com Black Tie Gala in Hollywood last night. Grease stars Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta were reunited on the red carpet and what would an Aussie tribute be without Terri and Bindi Irwin, wife and daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin. Also making appearances were pop diva Kylie Minogue and Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart.
Paris Hilton’s on-again off-again pizza-delivery boyfriend, Alex Vaggo, was seen at The Ivy restaurant this evening enjoying an early dinner with a bevy of young women, none of whom was Paris.
It’s reported that Paris and Alex are being sought after to star in a steamy Superbowl commercial for Pizza Hut in which Alex delivers a pizza to Paris’ home and satisfies more than her hunger. Talk about reality TV!
It has been reported that John Travolta is up in arms over the airport near his $8 million home in Florida. Travolta claims he was lied to (GASP!) by the owners of the Greystone Airport near Ocala because they didn’t want him landing his Boeing 707 there.
The new Mrs. Edna Turnblad filed a lawsuit Wednesday that states that Greystone owners James and Christine Garemore falsely claimed that the airport couldn’t accomodate his jumbo jet.
Travolta used to land at Greystone frequently but, in 2006, the Garemore’s changed the airport’s master record to indicate that large planes could no longer land there citing deteriorating runway conditions as the major reason for the change.
Travolta doesn’t buy it. “It’s a spin in order to cover his butt because he knows that he is in big trouble for doing what he did…” says Travolta’s attorney, Michael J. McDermott.
Oh, the drama of owning a jet. Can’t you relate?
Pilot-come-lately John Travolta had another flight scare while piloting his private jet to New York from Germany. Travolta had to make an emergency landing in Shannon, Ireland because of engine problems. Although unhurt, Travolta had a close call. Fly safe, Johnny!
