Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman’s Year

Think it’s safe to say that 2011 will be Oscar winner Natalie Portman’s year.

There’s a baby on the way, a wedding to French choreographer Benjamin Millepied pending and a new Oscar to place on her mantle…and it’s only February!

Natalie, who won big last night at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards picking up the Best Actress in a Leading Role accolade, kept close to Benjamin as they arrived at the star-studded Vanity Fair after-party held at Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles.

As part of her Oscar acceptance speak Portman thanked her parents who allowed her to get in to acting at such a young age, her family, her friends and her ‘love’…Benjamin is a lucky fella.

No Strings Attached

The movie may say No Strings Attached, but it seems like the film’s stars love to couple up!

While at the LA premiere of the romantic comedy, mother-to-be Natalie Portman was all smiles as she spoke to reporters on the red carpet and said of her pregnancy following her role in Black Swan…

‘I told Darren [Aronofsky], I was like, “First you got me skinny, and now you’re getting my fat,” because he introduced me to my fiance. It’s the greatest gift he ever gave me.’

Following the newly engaged actress, co-star Ashton Kutcher and wife of five years Demi Moore, who showed off her killer bod, looked very much in love as they held hands…

Natalie Portman Palm Springs Gala

Looking very demure in a black and sheer cocktail dress detailed with a gold studded collar and cuffs pregnant Natalie Portman showed off her growing baby bump on the red carpet at the 22nd Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala.

The Black Swan actress, who went home with a Desert Palm Achievement Awards for Acting, also showed off her sparkling diamond engagement ring that was given to her by fiance Benajmin Millepied.

And though she’s expecting Natalie is still keeping a full schedule, promoting her upcoming romantic comedy No Strings Attached while getting ready for the 2011 Golden Globe Awards.

Gotham Independent Film Awards

Indie flicks have yet another award show on their side.

Natalie Portman, Hilary Swank, Anne Hathaway and Leighton Meester were among the lovely actresses who were seen arriving at New York’s Cipriani Wall Street for IFP’s 20th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards.

The evening’s winners included the dark drama Winter’s Bone which picked up the Best Feature Award and Kevin Asch who won the Breakthrough Director Award.

And it seems that the Gotham accolade just might be the beginning of praise for Winter’s Bone, as the film has recently been nominated for and Independent Spirit Award, the ceremony of which is held the night before the Oscars.

Portman Kutcher Kiss on Set

A chilly LA night was temporarily heated up as Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman had a romantic smooch on the set of their new movie No Strings directed by Ivan Reitman.

Guess this is how they make on screen kisses so beautiful…lights, crew, makeup and directors.  No wonder it always looks so perfect!

And although Natalie looked a bit cold at times in her little purple dress she and Ashton still managed to laugh it up in between takes.

Black Swan In Venice

Natlie Portman looks radiant in red while promoting her latest movie Black Swan at the Venice Film Festival.

Portman plays a ballerina in the movie and underwent a grueling 6 months of training to be able to do the role.

Seems it’s paid off though, there is already early Oscar buzz surrounding the move!

Friends With Benefits

Ashton Kutcher and co-star Natalie Portman were spotted filming scenes for their new movie Friends With Benefits in LA today.

Natalie was sporting doctors scrubs so I presume her character works in the medical profession….. but there’s not a lot of info about the plot floating around (other than the obvious which you grasp from the title of course). So we’ll just have to wait for more scenes to find out what happens next.

And by the way, is there anything Natalie doesn’t look good in?!

Natalie Portman and Lisa Kudrow at the TIFF

Natalie Portman and Lisa Kudrow were two of the big names at the premiere of Love and Other Impossible Pursuits at the Toronto International Film Festival yesterday. I can see why so many guys dig Natalie so much. On top of speaking approximately eleventy zillion languages (fluently!), she’s absolutely gorgeous. When she hit the red carpet, everyone else should have just gone home. How can anyone compete with that?

That dress! The makeup! Those shoes! Everything is perfect and she looks amazing. Somebody needs to give their stylist a raise!

Natalie Portman is Camera Shy

Natalie Portman went out with friends in Hollywood last night, and she wasn’t too keen on having her picture taken. Mabye she’s embarrassed about those rumors of her reported affair with Sean Penn? I know I would be.

Natalie is currently working on a supernatural thriller movie, The Black Swan. It’s set in the NYC ballet, and even though I hate everything having to do with dancing, I know I’m going to see that movie the day it comes out. Even though she may (or may not) have hooked up with a married man, I’m a huge fan of her work.

Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium

Natalie Portman, Dustin Hoffman, Jason Bateman and Abigail and Spencer Breslin attended the premiere of Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium last night in New York City.

In the film, Molly Mahoney (Portman) is the awkward and insecure manager of Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, the strangest, most fantastic, most wonderful toy store in the world. But when Mr. Magorium, the 243 year-old eccentric who owns the store (Hoffman), bequeaths the store to her, a dark and ominous change begins to take over.

The film is due in US theaters on November 16, 2007.
