Morgan Freeman Honored At AFI

One of my favorite actors was honored last night in LA and I guess I’m not the only one who thinks Morgan Freeman is great, a whole host of A-listers turned out in support too.

Freeman was the recipient of the The AFI Life Achievement award and was joined by the likes of Dame Helen Mirren, Forest Whitaker, Matthew McConaughey, Cuba Gooding Junior and of course his very proud family.

With 93 acting credits to his name, Freeman is totally deserving of this award. Amongst my favorite movies with Freeman have to be Seven and Shawshank Redemption, both quite serious films. He’s not only terrific in those but brilliant in a quiet comedic way in Bruce Almighty.

Congrats Mr Freeman!

Red Hot In Red

Last night there wasn’t just one lady in red… there were quite a few and everyone of them stunning. I had trouble deciding but I can only pick one favorite so I’m going with Dita who absolutely rocked the red dress.

Accompanying the burlesque star on the runway during The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection 2011 Fashion Show were Katrina Bowden, Camilla Alves, Cat Deeley, Eve, Suzanne Somers and Audrina Patridge to name a few.

The event which kicked off  Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York was presented by Diet Coke with national sponsor Swarovski and partners Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and AOL.

Pics from AFI Lifetime Achievement Shindig

Michael Douglas won the 37th annual Lifetime Achievement Award the other night — good for him — but the real star of the night was his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones. She’s turning 40 later this year, but you’d never guess it. To quote one of my favorite movies of all time, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar, here’s only one way to describe her: STATUESQUE.

Of course, other big names were there to help Mike (may I call you that?) celebrate, including Kirk Douglas and Anne Buydens, Matthew McConaughey and Camilla Alves, Melanie Griffith and Jesse Johnson and Tobey Maguire.

You know what’s hot right now? The Malibu Lumber Yard. I know it sounds like something you’d hit up before trying to flip a house, but there’s more to it than that. The Malibu Lumber Yard is an upscale, eco-friendly retail site that had its grand opening last night.

The organizers of the opening night festivities must have done something right, because all kinds of famous people came out to show their support. People like Matthew McConaughey, Camilla Alves, Jewel, Mena Suvari, Vanessa Minnillo, Sean Stewart, Jerey Piven, Terri Seymour and Minnie Driver were all there.

Oh, the Heat on the Beach!

Hollywood stud Matthew McConaughey and his HOT model girlfriend, Camilla Alves, spent Sunday afternoon at the beach in Malibu sunbathing and playing frisbee, ending the day with a romantic sunset walk.

Matthew is spending a great deal of his time at the beach, lately, for his upcoming film Surfer Dude in which McConaughey plays a “soul-searching surfer experiencing an existential crisis.”

Until recently, Matthew has had a great time living in his bachelor trailer on the beach while filming the movie. But, according to reports, Camilla has put an end to that. She was not prepared to slum it in his mobile home and insisted they relocate to Malibu’s Polaroid Beach House.

Apparently, Matthew is now house-hunting. Anyone know of a place where he can rest his gorgeous head?
